My name is Kevin Doherty. I was born in St. Louis Mo. (U.S.A.) in 1960. I started welding and fabricating metal when I was 15 years old. I always enjoyed using metal and art together.

As I became skilled at using a cutting torch, my metal art work improved. I spent many hours experiencing with the metal, bending and shaping. The process I created for brazing (welding brass to mild steel) is a process I spent many years developing. I know of no other method of this kind being used in the art world today. The texture and color are one of a kind.

Lighting gives my art great results, showing the texture and bringing out the different colors that are almost hidden to the naked eye.

Whether it is a wall piece or table piece, a metal sculpture has its own presence in a room.
